APPROVALS FROM LABOUR DEPARTMENT

Approvals from Labour Dept.Shops & Establishment Act, Contract Labour License, BOCW, etc

1. Labour Department Approvals:
Employers are required to obtain approvals and comply with various regulations outlined by the Labour Department to ensure proper working conditions, employee welfare, and compliance with labor laws. This includes ensuring fair wages, proper working hours, and statutory benefits such as PF (Provident Fund) and ESI (Employee State Insurance).
This approval is typically required in relation to the operational aspects of businesses, especially for industries with a significant number of employees.

2. Shops & Establishment Act:
Under the Shops and Establishment Act, businesses must register themselves with the local municipal or state authority to legally operate.
This act governs the working hours, rest intervals, holidays, and other employee-related provisions for businesses that operate in shops, commercial establishments, or any business with employees working regularly.
3. Contract Labour License:
For businesses employing contract laborers, a contract labor license is necessary. This license is granted under the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition Act, 1970.)
It ensures that contract workers are given the same rights and protections as regular workers in areas like working conditions, wages, and welfare benefits.

4. BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers Act): This act specifically deals with the welfare of construction workers, providing them with benefits such as insurance, pension, and compensation for accidents.
Businesses in the construction industry need to register under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act to contribute to a welfare fund that provides these benefits.
